From the moment i was brought into this world, i didn't knew a single thing of what is happening in my life. One thing i know is that i do whatever the babies do. I didn't even know who first held me. If it was my father? my mother? I don't know... but whatever it is, i will never forget the warm welcome of the hands which touched my life and loved me for who i am. I call them the stars of my life. :)
I have my eldest sister named Joanne Nathalie Mallary-Abrera. She is a dentist, married to kuya Sef who is also a dentist and now working in the US. My sister has 3 lovable kids, Bianca, Kenneth and the cutie little Athena. What i could remember from my sister when i was just a toddler is that she has a squeeking loud voice whenever there is something to be scared of or if she's going to scold me. I remember the time when ate Joanne faught with ate Monette. I poured a bottle of water into her head when she was sleeping and she pulled my hair for payback. (ahahahahaha!)
Those times with my sister Joanne are a bit disturbing whenever i think of the past, but there are still good times we shared together. I can remember her dancing infront of the mirror and she keeps on telling me to do whatever she is doing. I can also remember her terrible laugh whenever she wanted to scare me. (it is horrible!!!)
Now a days, I finally realized how special my sister can be. Whenever i have problems, she is always there for me to call. If i need support she'll be present to take pictures and help me if i need her artistic ability and I never get to remember the times we joke around like we we're doing right now. All i could reflect are the scolding most of the time. I guess, it takes time to realize things which are deeply hidden from the past. That is why it took me 16 yrs to finally had the chance to say... I LOVE YOU ATE JOANNE!
My 2nd eldest sister is Simonette Amelie Mallary-Espiritu. She is married to kuya Arnold and they both live in New Jersey USA. I don't actually know what their jobs are,but what i know is that ate Monette is my one of a kind sister. She is like my bestfriend. If i need someone to talk to and even though we're miles apart, I just give her my message and she's ready to go online just to talk to me. I knew from the very beginning that she'll be one of the best that my life could ever had.
When it comes to me, she is very flexible. She can be mean, nice, stupid and even make a fool out of herself just to show me that she cares. I will never forget these words... "Huwag mo kami iiwan ha...". Those words will always be mentioned everytime ate Monette and I talk about confidential things.
My sister was a flight stewardess before, and everytime she's going to leave, I will cry. When I was still a kid, I would always ask my mom... "bakit kailangan si ate Monette ang umalis? pwede naman si ate Mem ah..." (ahahahahaha!) Sadness is one of the main ingredients my childhood has back in the days. Ate Monette also has a scary look that i could still remember right now. If she wants to scare me, she use that freaking face which will make me hide under the bed! Even now, i'm still scared. (what a face!)
Even though good times we're most developed between me and my sister Monette, I could remember times when I used to throw things at her and I will shout... "bumalik ka na lang sa Amerika!..." See, not just because she's my one of a kind sister, we don't quarrel together. Everytime I think about family, I just never can picture my life without her.
I may have my sisters but i have one amazing brother! Eugene Ferminito B. Mallary. He is an Engineer in Seattle, USA. He is married to ate Kareen and they have 2 very nice kids, Kyle and Kelvin. When I was little, my brother and I would always fight for a simple or a huge problem. There can never be a day without us fighting.
(amazing isn't it?..)
(amazing isn't it?..)
My brother is an amazing driver. I love it when he drives real fast! and my mom on the other hand will tell him to slow down. (corny ni mama!) Kuya Eugene is also good in painting, sketching, and many more that inloves with pencils, crayons and paint. My big brother is a bully as i was growing up, the more we grew together, the more we faught.
Fighting might be the main ingredient while we were together but, combined forces is also one of them. If there is something to be worked out in terms of teasing, playing or bullying... We'll be there. Kuya will tell me to do this, and that, and this, and that! (ahahaha! amazing!) I can also remember that everytime I woke up and even after eating lunch, wrestling is one of our hobby. Both of us will play wrestling on mama and papa's bed.
Everytime my brother gets drunk, he will always be nice. If i wanted money, he'll give me some. I never have encountered fighting with my brother whenever he's drunk. (wow! amazing!) That is why he is amazing. But, things have changed. Now that he is in US, he will never forget about me. I'm going to college now and he is forcing me to study well. And if I did, I'll have a price from him. I know that he misses me a lot even though he doesn't want say it. Everytime we chat using the internet, if he'll ask me stuffs like... "ok ka lang ba diyan?" "nag-aaral ka bang mabuti?" "nakapagenroll ka na ba? para makuha kita pagka graduate mo ng college." He will most of the time mention that he will get me after college and let me stay with them in Seattle, and i will never forget myself asking him this... "whoo! namimiss mo lang ako noh?!" (ahahaha!) In reply, he will say... "jologs ka!" (ahahaha! amazing!)
Even though the love and care for each other weren't been shown all those years, I know that there is atleast one tiny part of my brother's heart which I could touch whenever I had the chance. I know that because "Kuya! huwag mo ikalila!... kalahati ng ugali ko nakuha ko sayo! jologs ka!... hahahaha!". And, I also know it because many people says that "MAGKAMUKHA SILA MAGKUYA!"... uuuggghhh!... (do we??!!!) Anyway, my brother is amazing! You want an explanation???... read this, ... (WHAPAK!!!)
Speaking of many sisters, I still have one. Charmaigne Mallary-Santiago. She is also married with kuya Jonathan who works in Dubai. I do not know exactly what my sister's occupation is right now. But, they have one very cute little boy Nathaniel, who looks like me!... why? because... "ako pinaglihian!!!" (ahahaha!) This sister of mine while i was growing to be a teenager is a scary big woman!... I can't also remember one time that we haven't faught. Ate Mem is one of the best enemies in the house that i got. (ahahaha!)
When i was still a toddler, I caould remeber her always playing the guitar and piano and my brother Eugene. And there is one song that I could remember her singing, "you say, i only hear what i want to." The song is entitled, Torn. I don't have any idea why it keeps playing in my head everytime i think about a song for ate Mem. (boring! ahaha!)
Whenever my sister will leave, I will have a big smile on my face. :) When she left for Singapore to find work, I cried for joy! (ahahaha!)... Many years have passed and being with her is a one big scary blur! My sister was married with kuya Jonathan, as i could remember is because i asked him... "kuya, kailan ka ba mag popropose kay ate Mem? Ang tagal niyo na mag-on eh...". There, when they got married, she became more gentle on me. But, when she reached the part of her being pregnant... whoa!!! It became a hurricane!
I know that after she'll deliver baby Nathan, the baby will be my carbon copy. For the way she scolds me during her pregnancy is brutal! (kulang nalang palayasin ako eh! ahahaha!) And then, after the delivery, she became nice again. (what a rare mood swing... oh.. ha!... walang ganyan sa states!)
Even though she's our very own "Sungit Queen", she is also a very caring sister. When our mother went in the US to take care of our grandmother, ate Mem was there and stood as my mom while our real mother was gone. And it was horrible! But although it was horrible, it brought me to something rewarding. I was forced to study and study for the dragon lady might blow me with her hot burning breath of fire! (ahahaha!) She's like that alright! It made me learn a lot and I became good in my performance in school. (She is a dragon lady!)
She maybe a dragon shit but hell!... she can be the most caring person you'll ever meet. Whenever i'm sick, she'll be there to comfort me. I remember the time that I almost got a dengue fever and my mother wasnt here, she was there always pampering me and scolding me everytime I forget to drink my medicine. (very nice..) Ate Mem could be really mean sometimes but she is one of the best!!!
So that's why I call them STARS OF MY LIFE... see how they glisten?
They're just like real stars, the ones that shines in the night.
I can see how they became similar.
In the day time you can't see them, because the light of the sun is very bright.
When the moon shines, they sparkle. Every single one gleams through the night.
They're my family and they belong to me.
Because, ever since, I knew that they will always be a part of me.
I thank God for giving me their love.
I thank thee for the blessings you gave us from the heavens above.
Someday I will repay you for all the elegance and beauty of life you brought.
Especially whenever I needed you if there's trouble or when I distraught.
I love you ate Joanne!
I love you ate Monette!
I love you kuya Eugene!
I love you ate Mem!
I love you ate Mem!
Your loving little sister,
Shanine :D
